Ed Broadbent: I don't find it a contradiction between saying that there are two legitimate sources, one on voluntary contributions, which I deeply agree with and put a lot of emphasis on, and at the same time recognizing that a government, which is, in a very real and profound sense in a democracy, representative of all citizens at a given time, contributing to the public process, as is being discussed here, that would benefit all parties and therefore, indirectly, all citizens.
