However, I would like to report that last Wednesday, the Lithuanian Government gave a negative conclusion on the proposal debated in the Lithuanian Parliament to introduce penalties for the public promotion of homosexual relations, because it is contrary to international and European Union legislation, as well as the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania, and is regarded as discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation.
Je voudrais toutefois signaler que mercredi dernier, le gouvernement lituanien a rendu un avis négatif sur la proposition discutée au parlement lituanien visant à introduire des sanctions en cas de promotion publique des relations homosexuelles, car elle est contraire au droit international et européen, ainsi qu’aux dispositions de la Constitution de la République de Lituanie, et qu’elle est considérée comme une discrimination fondée sur l’orientation sexuelle.
