I also would like to recognise the decisive and effective actions of the Hungarian authorities to contain the impact of the spill and its spread from the rivers Torna and Marcal downstream into the Danube and into neighbouring countries, and also to prevent the risks of new spills by building additional protection walls.
Je salue, par ailleurs, les autorités hongroises pour leurs interventions décisives et efficaces qu’elles ont multipliées afin de limiter l’impact de la fuite, d’enrayer la pollution des rivières Torna et Marcal et d’éviter la propagation des boues rouges, en aval, vers le Danube et vers les pays voisins. Je souligne également les initiatives prises pour prévenir de nouvelles coulées, grâce à la construction de digues de protection supplémentaires.
