The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) supports the ‘European territorial cooperation goal’ in certain regions corresponding to level 3 of the common classification of territorial units for statistics (hereinafter referred to as ‘NUTS level 3’) for cross-border cooperation, in all regions corresponding to level 2 of the common classification of territorial units for statistics (hereinafter referred to as ‘NUTS level 2’) for transnational cooperation, which was established by Regulation (EC) No 1059/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council (3) as amended by Commission Regulation (EU) No 31/2011 (4).

2. By 31 March 2010, Member States shall submit to the Commission a report including a list of those areas on their territory classified as level 2 in the nomenclature of territorial units for statistics (NUTS) or as a more disaggregated NUTS level in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1059/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 May 2003 on the establishment of a common classification of territorial units for statistics (NUTS) (23) where the typical greenhouse gas emissions from cultivation of agricultural raw materials can be expected to be lower than or equal to the emissions reported under the heading ‘Disaggregated default values for cultivation’ in part D of Annex V to this Directive, accompanied by a description of the method and data used to establish that list.

Le 31 mars 2010 au plus tard, les États membres soumettent à la Commission un rapport comprenant une liste des zones de leur territoire classées au niveau 2 de la nomenclature des unités territoriales statistiques (NUTS) ou correspondant à un niveau plus fin de la NUTS conformément au règlement (CE) no 1059/2003 du Parlement européen et du Conseil du 26 mai 2003 relatif à l’établissement d’une nomenclature commune des unités territoriales statistiques (NUTS) (23) dans lesquelles les émissions types prévues de gaz à effet de serre résultant de la culture de matières premières agricoles sont inférieures ou égales aux émissions déclarées sous le titre «Culture» de l’annexe V, partie D, de la présente directive, accompagnée d’une description de la méthode et des données utilisées pour établir cette liste.

A fisheries area selected for assistance shall be limited in size and, as a general rule, shall be smaller than NUTS level 3 of the common classification of territorial units for statistics within the meaning of Regulation (EC) No 1059/2003 of 26 May 2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 May 2003 on the establishment of a common classification of territorial units for statistics (NUTS) (20).

1. The purpose of this Regulation is to establish a common statistical classification of territorial units, hereinafter referred to as "NUTS", in order to enable the collection, compilation and dissemination of harmonised regional statistics in the Community.
