Mr Bangemann and Mr Van Miert would warn all parties interested in resolving the crisis not to adopt a resist-at-all-costs attitude, as this will only plunge the European steel industry even further into a crisis, with catastrophic economic and social consequences for Europe, at a time when the White Paper should be spurring us all on to greater efforts.
