The petitioners from my riding, well over 100 of them, are urging the Government of Canada to send a strong message to the government of Sri Lanka to cease military offences immediately, to allow international relief agencies to enter Tamil areas to provide humanitarian aid to the affected civilian population, to stop shelling and bombing civilian inhabitants, and to allow international monitors to investigate the massacre of Tamil aid workers.
Les pétitionnaires de ma circonscription — il y en a plus de 100 — demandent instamment au gouvernement du Canada d'indiquer clairement au gouvernement du Sri Lanka qu'il doit mettre un terme aux offensives militaires immédiatement de manière à permettre aux organismes de secours internationaux de pénétrer dans les zones tamoules pour offrir de l'aide humanitaire à la population civile touchée, qu'il doit cesser de bombarder des civils et qu'il doit permettre aux observateurs internationaux d'enquêter sur le massacre de travailleurs humanitaires tamouls.
