The new Ukrainian Government, which is clearly in step with the tendency in the EU towards changing the nature of 9 May, the day commemorating the victory against fascism, has abolished the traditional celebrations marking that day, as part of President Viktor Yushchenko's policy of 'reconciliation' between those who fought with the Red Army against the Nazis and those who fought in the nationalist forces alongside the Nazis.
Le nouveau gouvernement ukrainien, dans le but manifeste de s’aligner sur l’UE en modifiant le caractère du 9 mai, jour de la fête de la victoire sur le fascisme, a supprimé les célébrations traditionnelles de cette journée, dans le cadre de la politique, menée par le président ukrainien, Viktor Iouchtchenko, de «réconciliation» entre ceux qui ont combattu avec l’Armée rouge contre les nazis et ceux qui ont combattu dans les rangs des forces nationalistes, aux côtés des nazis.
