– Whereas the Union’s financial assistance to workers made redundant should be dynamic and made available as quickly and efficiently as possible, in accordance with the Joint Declaration of the European Parliament, the Council and the Commission adopted during the conciliation meeting on 17 July 2008, and having due regard for the IIA of 17 May 2006 in respect of the adoption of decisions to mobilise the EGF; whereas the Netherlands has requested assistance in respect of cases concerning 512 redundancies in NXP Semiconductors Netherlands, operating in the electronics sector in the NUTS II regions of Gelderland and Eindhoven; whereas the application fulfils the eligibility criteria set up by the EGF Regulation, the EP requests the institutions involved to make the necessary efforts to accelerate the mobilisation of the EGF; recalls the institutions’ commitment to ensuring a smooth and rapid procedure for the adoption of the decisions on the mobilisation of the EGF, providing one-off, time-limited individual support geared to helping workers who have suffered redundancies as a result of globalisation and the financial and economic crisis; and emphasises the role that the EGF can play in the reintegration of workers made redundant into the labour market.
– (EN) Considérant que le soutien financier de l’Union aux travailleurs qui perdent leur emploi doit être dynamique et mis à disposition avec toute la rapidité et l’efficacité possibles, conformément à la déclaration commune du Parlement européen, du Conseil et de la Commission adoptée lors de la réunion de concertation du 17 juillet 2008, et eu égard à l’accord interinstitutionnel du 17 mai 2006 en ce qui concerne l’adoption de décisions tendant à mobiliser le FEM; considérant que les Pays-Bas ont introduit une demande d’aide dans plusieurs dossiers portant sur 512 licenciements dans l’entreprise NXP Semiconductors Netherlands, évoluant dans le secteur de l’électronique dans les régions de niveau NUTS II de Gueldre et d’Eindhoven; considérant que la demande déposée remplit les critères de recevabilité fixés par le règlement relatif au FEM, le Parlement européen invite les institutions concernées à consentir les efforts nécessaires pour accélérer la mobilisation du FEM; il rappelle l’engagement pris par les institutions d’assurer un déroulement rapide et fluide de la procédure d’adoption des décisions concernant la mobilisation du FEM, en offrant une aide individuelle ponctuelle et limitée dans le temps aux travailleurs touchés par des licenciements liés à la mondialisation et à la crise économique et financière; et il souligne le rôle que le FEM peut jouer en ce qui concerne la réinsertion sur le marché du travail des travailleurs licenciés.
