Mr Lanting, Farmers' Union representative for the northern region (NLTO), nonetheless drew attention to differences of opinion existing within the farming community, with pig breeders more in favour of stamping out, out of concern for the possible commercial repercussions, than dairy farmers, who stood firmly against this policy.
