I share with Mr Klaus Hänsch, Mr Ingo Friedrich, Mr Karl von Wogau, Mr Francis Wurtz and Mr Jens-Peter Bonde the privilege of having been a Member of the European Parliament since its first elections in 1979.

Following an understanding reached at the Conciliation Committee on 9 March 2000, an agreement on a common draft directive on late payments was confirmed yesterday by Mr Ingo Friedrich, Vice-President of the European Parliament, and Ms. Margarida Figueiredo, Deputy Permanent Representative at the Permanent Representation of Portugal at the European Union.
