‘The maximum annual amount which may be reimbursed in respect of the travel expenses actually incurred by committee or subcommittee chairs travelling to attend conferences or events which deal with a matter of European interest falling within the sphere of responsibility of their committee or subcommittee and which have a parliamentary dimension shall be EUR 4 264.

Similarly, they shall identify those proposals and initiatives for which information is to be provided before the Conference of Presidents or conveyed, in an appropriate manner, to the relevant parliamentary committee or its chair .

Mrs. Sue Barnes (London West, Lib.): Madam Speaker, pursuant to Standing Order 34 I have the honour to present to the House, in both official languages, two reports from the Canadian Branch, Commonwealth Parliamentary Association concerning the 40th Canadian Regional Conference which was held in Edmonton, Alberta from July 16 to 22, 2001 and the 47th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference, which was held in Australia from September 4 to 14, 2001.

Mrs. Pauline Picard (Drummond, BQ): Mr. Speaker, pursuant to Standing Order 34(1), I have the honour to present to the House, in both official languages, the report of the Canadian group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which represented Canada at the 96th inter-parliamentary conference which was held in Beijing, China, September 14 to 21, 1996.
Mme Pauline Picard (Drummond, BQ): Monsieur le Président, conformément au paragraphe 34(1) du Règlement, j'ai l'honneur de présenter à la Chambre, dans les deux langues officielles, le rapport du groupe canadien de l'Union interparlementaire, qui a représenté le Canada à la 96e conférence interparlementaire tenue à Beijing, en Chine, du 14 au 21 septembre 1996.

[5] This initiative was followed by the organisation by the Dutch Parliament of the first inter-parliamentary European Union conference on Europol on 7-8 June 2001, which focused on the question of parliamentary control.
Cette initiative a été suivie de la tenue au parlement néerlandais, les 7 et 8 juin 2001, de la première conférence interparlementaire de l'Union européenne sur Europol, dont le thème principal a été le contrôle parlementaire.

[11] Mention should be made of the following in particular: - the 3rd United Nations Conference on the least developed countries (May 2001) the action programme of which includes recommendations on energy and sets out priority actions; - the resolution on renewable energy recently adopted by the joint EU-ACP Parliamentary Assembly (29 October - 1 November 2001); - the recent G8 Energy Declaration (Detroit, May 2002) which emphasises energy cooperation with the developing countries and refers to the report submitted to the Genoa G8 Summit by the renewable energy task force.
[11] On mentionnera notamment : - la 3ème Conférence des Nations Unies sur les Pays les Moins Avancés (Mai 2001) dont le programme d'actions inclut des recommandations sur l'énergie et définit des actions prioritaires ; - la résolution sur l'énergie renouvelable adoptée récemment par l'Assemblée parlementaire conjointe UE-ACP (29 oct - 1er nov 2001) ; - la récente Déclaration du G8 sur l'énergie (Detroit, mai 2002) qui met l'accent sur la coopération énergétique avec les pays en développement et fait référence au Rapport remis au Sommet du G8 à Gênes par la Task Force sur l'énergie renouvelable.
