G. whereas Christians are the most persecuted religious group in the world, and whereas, data show that the number of Christians killed every year is more than 150 000, as recognised by Parliament in its resolution of 30 April 2015 on the persecution of Christians around the world; whereas Parliament’s Vice-President Antonio Tajani, who is responsible for its dialogue with churches and religious communities under Article 17 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, stated during the ad hoc high‑level meeting of 1 December 2015 on ‘The persecution of Christians in the world: A call for action’ that: ‘No religious community is as subject to hatred, violence and systematic aggression as the Christians’; whereas Parliament’s President, Martin Schulz, stated during the same meeting that the persecution of Christians is ‘undervalued’ and ‘hasn’t been properly addressed’;
G. considérant que les chrétiens constituent le groupe religieux le plus persécuté au monde et que, des données factuelles montrent que le nombre de chrétiens assassinés chaque année dépasse les 150 000, comme l'a reconnu le Parlement dans sa résolution du 30 avril 2015 sur la persécution des chrétiens dans le monde; qu'Antonio Tajani, vice-président du Parlement chargé du dialogue avec les églises et les communautés religieuses au titre de l'article 17 du traité sur le fonctionnement de l'Union européenne, a déclaré en substance lors la réunion ad hoc de haut niveau du 1er décembre 2015 sur le thème "Persécution des chrétiens dans le monde – Un appel à l'action" qu'aucune communauté religieuse n'est l'objet d'autant de haine, de violence et d'agressions systématiques que les chrétiens; que Martin Schulz, Président du Parlement, a affirmé lors de la même réunion que la persécution des chrétiens est sous-évaluée et n'est pas dûment prise en compte;

The three Presidents were joined by the President of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz, for a leaders' meeting and by the EU High Representative/Vice-President of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini, Commission Vice-Presidents Maroš Šefčovič and Valdis Dombrovskis, and Commissioners Johannes Hahn and Cecilia Malmström for the plenary session.

In line with the Interinstitutional Framework Agreement on relations between the European Parliament and the European Commission, President Juncker has informed Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament, of Lord Hill's resignation and of his intention to transfer the portfolio to Vice-President Dombrovskis in order to allow for the relevant parliamentary consultation to take place (paragraph 7 of the Interinstitutional Framework Agreement).

28. An annual report on the operation of the register shall be submitted by the Secretaries-General of the European Parliament and the European Commission respectively to the relevant Vice-President of the European Parliament and to the relevant Vice-President of the European Commission.

The European Union cannot continue deviating from the rule of law and therefore I call on my colleagues to join the newly-formed European committee for justice under the leadership of Vice-President Alejo Vidal-Quadras calling for the immediate removal of the PMOI from the blacklist.
