The setting up of an ERIC under the ERIC Regulation requires, amongst other, a declaration by the host Member State recognising the ERIC as an international body in the sense of the VAT Directive and as an international organisation in the sense of Directive 2008/118/EC, in order for VAT and/or excise duty exemption to apply.
