€2 million of today's funding come from EU support for fighting Ebola that has been announced by Commissioner Piebalgs last Friday during his official visit to Benin (see IP/14/974); the remaining €3 million will be provided through the so-called African Union Support Programme, an existing EU funding mechanism that provides technical capacity to the AU.
Parmi les fonds octroyés aujourd’hui, 2 millions d’euros proviennent de l’enveloppe débloquée par l’UE pour lutter contre Ebola, annoncée vendredi dernier par M. Piebalgs lors de sa visite officielle au Bénin (voir IP/14/974); les 3 millions d’euros restants seront mis à disposition par l’intermédiaire du «programme d’appui à l’Union africaine», un mécanisme de financement de l’UE déjà existant qui fournit des capacités techniques à l’UA.
