Welcomes the expected speedy implementation of the statement of intent by the Turkish Government regarding the reopening of the Greek-minority school on the island of Gökçeada (Imbros), which constitutes a positive step towards the preservation of the bicultural character of the islands of Gökçeada (Imbros) and Bozcaada (Tenedos), in line with Resolution 1625(2008) of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe; notes, however, that further action is needed to address the problems faced by members of the Greek minority, in particular with regard to property rights; calls on the Turkish authorities, in this regard, given the dwindling number of members of the minority, to encourage and assist expatriate minority families who wish to return to the island;
