The Union shall participate in the Active and Assisted Living Research and Development Programme ("AAL Programme") jointly undertaken by Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, France, Hungary, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom (the "Participating States"), in accordance with the conditions laid down in this Decision.

? (PL) Women’s participation in the labour market is increasing systematically right across the European Union. Poland is no exception, although women’s participation in the labour market in Poland remains below the Union average.
La Pologne ne fait pas exception, même si la participation des femmes au marché du travail en Pologne reste inférieure à la moyenne européenne. Je tiens par contre à souligner qu’un plus grand nombre de femmes polonaises occupent des postes à responsabilités que leurs homologues d’Europe occidentale.

The Baltic States and Poland have indicated their interest to participate in the BSR programme; as regards the CADSES programme, Poland, the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Bulgaria and Romania have expressed their interest to participate.The two programmes amount to EUR 97 million (BSR) and EUR 132 million (CADSES) until 2006.

Welcomes the recently accomplished regional reform, pointing out that some financial autonomy of the regions is essential for full adoption of the acquis , above all in the education, local infrastructures and health sectors; calls on the Polish authorities to continue their work on improving the institutional conditions for effective implementation of regional development programmes in view of Poland's participation in the EU's structural policy, ensuring the participation of local and regional actors as well as the concentration of means on the poorest regions;
