His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture, pursuant to subsections 2(1) and (2) of the Agricultural Products Marketing Act, is pleased hereby to repeal the Prince Edward Island Milk Order, 1988, made by Order in Council P.C. 1988-1607 of August 11, 1988Footnote , and to make the annexed Order granting authority to the Prince Edward Island Milk Marketing Board to regulate the marketing in interprovincial and export trade of milk produced in Prince Edward Island, in substitution therefor.
Sur recommandation du ministre de l’Agriculture et en vertu des paragraphes 2(1) et (2) de la Loi sur la commercialisation des produits agricoles, il plaît à Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil d’abroger le Décret de 1988 sur le lait de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard, pris par le décret C.P. 1988-1607 du 11 août 1988Note de bas de page , et de prendre en remplacement le Décret étendant aux marchés interprovincial et international les pouvoirs du Prince Edward Island Milk Marketing Board relativement à la commercialisation du lait produit à l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard, ci-après.

Certain provinces of Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut) are currently listed in Annex III to Regulation (EC) No 1251/2008.
Certaines provinces du Canada (Colombie-Britannique, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nouveau-Brunswick, Nouvelle-Écosse, Île-du-Prince-Édouard, Terre-Neuve et Labrador, Yukon, territoires du Nord-Ouest et Nunavut) sont actuellement énumérées à l’annexe III du règlement (CE) no 1251/2008.

(2) Commission Regulation (EC) No 1337/1999(5), as amended by Regulation (EC) No 1787/1999(6), establishes a balance for the supply to the Canary Islands of milk and milk products; whereas that balance may be revised if necessary by providing for adjustments during the current year in the quantities of products within the overall quantity established as a function of the requirements of the region; whereas, in order to satisfy the Canary Islands' milk product requirements, in particular for concentrated milk, other than in powdered form, intended for human consumption, the quantities established for those products in the forecast balances should be adjusted; whereas, therefore, the Annex to Regulation (EC) No 1337/1999 should be amended.
(2) Le règlement (CE) n° 1337/1999 de la Commission(5), modifié par le règlement (CE) n° 1787/1999(6), a établi le bilan en produits laitiers pour les îles Canaries. Ce bilan peut être révisé dans le cas où il s'avérerait nécessaire, en prévoyant des ajustements en cours d'exercice des quantités des produits dans le cadre de la quantité globale fixée en fonction des besoins de cette région. Afin de satisfaire les besoins en produits laitiers aux îles Canaries, il s'avère nécessaire d'ajuster les quantités prévues pour ces produits dans les bilans prévisionnels. Il y a lieu, dès lors, de modifier l'annexe du règlement (CE) n° 1337/1999.

The needs of local consumption in those islands covered by local production should be taken into account and some of the provisions of the common market organisation for milk and milk products on limiting output should be derogated from for a period of four marketing years beginning in 1999/2000 in order to take account of the level of development of and the conditions for local production.
Il convient de prendre en compte les besoins de la consommation locale de ces îles couverts par la production locale et de déroger pour une période de quatre campagnes à compter de la campagne 1999/2000 à certaines dispositions de l'organisation commune de marché du lait et des produits laitiers en matière de limitation de la production pour tenir compte de l'état de développement et des conditions de production locales.
