224.3 (1) Where the Minister has knowledge or suspects that a particular person is holding moneys that were seized by a police officer in the course of administering or enforcing the criminal law of Canada from another person (in this section referred to as the “tax debtor”) who is liable to make a payment under this Act or under an Act of a province with which the Minister of Finance has entered into an agreement for the collection of taxes payable to the province under that Act and that are restorable to the tax debtor, the Minister may in writing require the particular person to turn over the moneys otherwise restorable to the tax debtor in whole or in part to the Receiver General on account of the tax debtor’s liability under this Act or under the Act of the province, as the case may be.

(a) to the Minister of National Health and Welfare the powers, duties and functions of the Minister of Finance under subsection 23.1(1) of the Federal-Provincial Fiscal Arrangements and Federal Post-Secondary Education and Health Contributions Act (the Act) for making a special adjustment payment to each province, in an amount that is a portion of the amount determined, by the Minister of Finance, in accordance with subsections 23.1(2) and (3) of the Act, which portion shall be the sum of the amounts, in respect of both of the insured health services program and the extended health care services program, that bear the same proportion to the amount of the total special adjustment payment to all provinces under section 23.1 of the Act as the sum of the amount of the total entitlement of all provinces in respect of the insured health services program, as determined by subsection 15(1) of the Act, and the amount payable to the provinces in respect of the extended health care services program pursuant to subsection 23(2) of the Act bears to the sum of the amounts of the entitlements of all provinces, as determined by subsections 15(1) and (2) of the Act, and the amounts payable to the provinces pursuant to subsection 23(2) of the Act; and

All lands included in Indian reserves within the Province, including those selected and surveyed but not yet confirmed, as well as those confirmed, shall continue to be vested in the Crown and administered by the Government of Canada for the purposes of Canada, and the Province will from time to time, upon the request of the Superintendent General of Indian Affairs, set aside, out of the unoccupied Crown lands hereby transferred to its administration, such further areas as the said Superintendent General may, in agreement with the appropriate Minister of the Province, select as necessary to enable Canada to fulfill its obligations under the treaties with the Indians of the Province, and such areas shall thereafter be administered by Canada in the same way in all respects as if they had never passed to the Province under the provisions hereof.
