Whereas the Netherlands further state that the province of Drenthe is in a very difficult situation as this province has the third highest unemployment rate in the Netherlands (7,5%) and that Drenthe counts amongst the provinces in the Netherlands with a pro capita income significantly below the average. Besides, this province has a low population density compared to the other provinces concerned by the other 5 applications as well as a low level of industrial activities.
