Where the authorities of a Member State in which a public document or its certified copy is presented have a reasonable doubt as to the authenticity of those documents, they should have the possibility of checking the models of documents available in the repository of IMI and, if a doubt remains, to submit requests for information through IMI to the relevant authorities of the Member State where those documents were issued, either by sending the request directly to the authority that issued the public document or made the certified copy, or by contacting the central authority of that Member State.

35 (1) Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, where the Authority intends to locate, construct or operate any works on any highway, street or other public place, it may do so only with the consent, expressed by by-law, of the municipality having jurisdiction over such highway, street or other public place, or, failing such consent within sixty days from the day a written request therefor is made to the municipality concerned by the Authority, upon such terms as may be fixed by the Canadian Transport Commission, after the municipality concerned and the Authority have been given an opportunity to make representations.

For the purpose of this Regulation ‘joint managing authority’ shall mean any public or private authority or body, including the state itself, at national, regional or local level, designated jointly by the Member State or States and the partner country or countries covered by a joint operational programme, having the financial and administrative capacity to manage Community assistance and having the legal capacity to conclude the agreements necessary for the purpose of this Regulation.
