The agreement provides for visa-free travel for the citizens of the European Union and for the citizens of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago when travelling to the territory of the other Contracting Party for a maximum period of 90 days in any 180-day period.

2. For the purposes of subparagraph (a) of paragraph 1, tax payable in Trinidad and Tobago by a company which is a resident of Canada in respect of profits attributable to manufacturing and agricultural activities, exploration or exploitation of natural resources and construction, telecommunications, data processing, engineering or tourism projects or services carried on or provided as part of an active business carried on by it in Trinidad and Tobago shall be deemed to include any amount which would have been payable thereon as Trinidad and Tobago tax for any year but for an exemption from or reduction of tax granted for that year or any part thereof under specific Trinidad and Tobago legislation to promote economic development, provided that relief from Canadian tax shall not be given by virtue of this paragraph in respect of income from any source if the income arises in a period starting more than ten years after the exemption from, or reduction of, Trinidad and Tobago tax was first granted in respect of that source.

2. As regards Article 62 of the Convention, the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago recognizes the compulsory jurisdiction of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights as stated in said article only to such extent that recognition is consistent with the relevant sections of the Constitution of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago; and provided that any judgment of the Court does not infringe, create or abolish any existing rights or duties of any private citizen.
2. En ce qui concerne l'article 62 de la Convention, le Gouvernement de la République de Trinité et Tobago ne reconnaît la juridiction obligatoire de la Cour interaméricaine des droits de l'homme mentionnée dans l'article précité que dans la mesure où cette reconnaissance est compatible avec les sections pertinentes de la Constitution de la République de Trinité et Tobago, et à la condition que l'arrêt de la Cour ne méconnaisse pas, ne crée pas ou n'annule pas des droits ou des devoirs existants des particuliers.
