The Conference is expected to reflect on the role of Central/Eastern European higher education of the countries concerned * in transition to market economy and industrial restructuring, * in renewal of the education and training system as a whole, * in transition to political democracy and pluralistic society with regard to the new situation of higher education in society, and to examine the role of Community support in this context, with particular regard to the future development of TEMPUS.
