Every day, scientific and technological progress contributes new innovations essential to our quality of life and international competitiveness [10]. Scientific cooperation is also often an important factor in dialogue with third countries [11].

Scientific cooperation for development should therefore be a priority in our overall cooperation strategy with African countries.

At the same time, I would hope that developing techno-scientific cooperation will direct practical cooperative projects to the right places and improve, inter alia, the implementation and success of the research framework programme and projects funded through the TACIS and the Interreg programmes.
