I am thinking of the French soldier who lost his life at the very time we were carrying out our mission and also the seventeen brave Spanish soldiers who died in a helicopter accident, in honour of whom we expressed our gratitude and recognition during our visit to Herat, the base where they had their general headquarters, and also our visit to the Governor, the President, the authorities of the United Nations, women candidates and the General Head of the NATO forces in that country.
Je pense au soldat français qui a perdu la vie au moment même où nous effectuions notre mission, et aussi aux dix-sept courageux soldats espagnols tués dans un accident d’hélicoptère, et en l’honneur desquels nous avons exprimé notre gratitude et notre reconnaissance lors de notre visite à Hérat, la base où ils avaient leur quartier général, et lors de notre visite chez le gouverneur, le président, les autorités des Nations unies, les candidates à l’élection et le chef d’état-major des forces de l’OTAN dans ce pays.
