The Commission assesses three options in respect of the implementation of a Community labelling scheme: (i) 'Non-action', (ii) 'Creating a single Community eco-labelling scheme for fish and fishery products', (iii) 'Establishing minimum requirements for voluntary eco-labelling schemes'.
La Commission suggère trois options concernant la création d'un système d'étiquetage écologique communautaire: Option n° 1: Ne pas agir; Option n° 2: Création d'un programme communautaire unique d'étiquetage pour les poissons et produits issus de la pêche; Option n° 3: Établir des exigences minimales pour des programmes facultatifs d’étiquetage écologique.

It is clear that the establishment of a single 'Community eco-labelling scheme' would bring with it more complicated processes for the relevant authorities and also undoubtedly greater costs.

The second relates to the creation of a single EU eco-labelling scheme and the third would involve the establishment of EU minimum requirements for voluntary eco-labelling schemes.
La seconde vise la création d'un système communautaire unique de label écologique et la troisième impliquerait l'élaboration d'exigences communautaires minimales pour une adhésion volontaire à des systèmes d'étiquetage écologique.

The objective of the Community Eco-label is to - promote the design, production, marketing and use of products which have a reduced environmental impact during their entire life cycle, and - provide consumers with better information on the environmental impact of products.
