Hon. Bob Runciman: Honourable senators, I rise today to support this motion and to speak about Majid Tavakoli, a student leader in Iran who was sentenced to more than eight years in prison for the simple act of speaking out against the illegitimate presidential election in 2009.

Il s'agit d'un leader étudiant iranien qui s'est vu imposer une peine de huit ans d'emprisonnement simplement pour avoir dénoncé les élections présidentielles illégitimes de 2009.
