3. If the conditions provided for by Articles 5 and 6 are met, and there are no grounds for refusal pursuant to Article 7, the Member States concerned shall grant the third-country national concerned long-term resident status. This status shall be permanent, subject to Article 10.

If the act of accession to the Union does not provide for such automatic accession of the Member State to this Agreement, the Member State concerned shall accede by depositing an act of accession with the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union, which shall send a certified copy to the ACP Secretariat and notify the Member States.
