26. Welcomes the importance assigned to the issue of racism and discrimination at the 2016 sessions of the HRC; condemns once again racist, anti-Semitic, homophobic and xenophobic violence and violence against migrants, which have reached alarming levels in some Member States, in the absence of firm action on the part of the authorities; expresses alarm at the upsurge in hate speech and stigmatising rhetoric directed against minorities and at the rise of groups of persons who are exerting increasing influence in the media and in political movements and parties which exercise government responsibility in some Member States, influence which has led, in particular, to the enactment of restrictive legislation;
26. salue l'importance accordée à la question du racisme et des discriminations lors des sessions 2016 du Conseil des droits de l'homme; condamne de nouveau les violences racistes, antisémites, homophobes, xénophobes et contre les migrants, qui ont atteint des niveaux alarmants dans certains États membres en l'absence d'actions fermes de la part des autorités; s'inquiète de la montée croissante des discours de haine et de stigmatisation à l'égard des minorités ainsi que de groupes de personnes, et de leur influence grandissante dans les médias et dans nombre de mouvements et partis politiques repris au plus haut niveau de responsabilité politique dans certains États membres et ayant conduit notamment à des législations restrictives;

3. Denounces in the strongest terms the public consultation on migration initiated by the Hungarian Government, relying on xenophobic misconceptions, the equating of migrants seeking asylum with security threats, the stigmatisation of asylum seekers as welfare migrants and the deliberate misrepresentation of the EU’s asylum and migration policies; condemns the bias and misuse of this public consultation, organised and financed by the government, for the purpose of spreading a rhetoric of hatred that is incompatible with the values on which the Union is founded; calls on the Hungarian Government to cancel the current consultation process immediately;

Is deeply concerned about the negative consequences of the discussion and potential adoption of this bill, which are further increasing stigmatisation, discrimination and violence against LGBTI individuals; calls on politicians and religious leaders to refrain from anti-LGBTI rhetoric, including hate speech and incitement to hatred;
