With a view to harmonising the internal market for new medicinal products, this procedure should also be made compulsory for orphan medicinal products and any medicinal product for human use containing an entirely new active substance, i.e. one that has not yet been authorised in the Community, and for which the therapeutic indication is the treatment of acquired immune deficiency syndrome, cancer, neurodegenerative disorder or diabetes.

2. Notification of marketing authorisation shall be published in the Official Journal of the European Union, quoting in particular the date of authorisation and the registration number in the Community Register, any International Non-proprietary Name (INN) of the active substance of the medicinal product, its pharmaceutical form, and any Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical Code (ATC).

The Community entirely supports the efforts of the Council of Europe to promote voluntary unpaid blood and plasma donation to attain self-sufficiency throughout the Community in the supply of blood products, and to ensure respect for ethical principles in trade in therapeutic substances of human origin.
La Communauté soutient pleinement les efforts du Conseil de l'Europe pour promouvoir le don volontaire et non rémunéré de sang ou de plasma, pour tendre vers l'autosuffisance de l'ensemble de la Communauté en matière d'approvisionnement en produits sanguins et pour assurer le respect des principes éthiques dans les échanges de substances thérapeutiques d'origine humaine.
