The fact is that the EU has held summits with China, India and Russia but not with Brazil, the other BRIC country. This has not happened, but ought to happen, because such a summit lends consistency to our policies towards the emerging economic powers and attaches greater importance to relations between Europe and Latin America.
Le fait est que l’Union organise des sommets avec la Chine, l’Inde et la Russie, mais pas avec le Brésil, l’autre pays du BRIC, alors qu’elle devrait y penser, car un tel sommet confère une certaine cohérence à nos politiques à l’égard des puissances économiques émergentes et attribue une plus grande importance aux relations entre l’Europe et l’Amérique latine.
