Before entering the Commission, Mr Sørensen had held several posts in the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs specialised in the areas of international economic, monetary, and trade affairs, successively in Denmark, in the Danish Delegation to the OECD in Paris and in the Danish Permanent Representation to the EU in Brussels.
Avant de travailler pour la Commission, M. Sørensen avait occupé plusieurs postes au ministère danois des affaires étrangères en tant que spécialiste des questions économiques, monétaires et commerciales internationales, d'abord au Danemark, puis à la délégation danoise auprès de l'OCDE à Paris et enfin à la représentation permanente du Danemark auprès de l'UE à Bruxelles.
