For all of these reasons, and within the framework of the privileged political dialogue between the European Union and Tunisia, we must demand that the Tunisian authorities immediately cease all forms of violence and persecution against human rights activists and guarantee freedom of expression, freedom of assembly and freedom of association.

Expresses its solidarity with Mrs Radhia Nasraoui, a Tunisian barrister, who has been on hunger strike since 15 October 2003 and calls on the Tunisian authorities to take immediate action on all her claims, in particular on the complaints made with regard to vandalism and physical attacks on her person; notes the manifest deterioration of the situation relating to fundamental freedoms in Tunisia and calls on the Tunisian authorities, as a matter of great urgency, to guarantee the independence of the judiciary;
8. exprime sa solidarité envers Maître Radhia Nasraoui, avocate tunisienne, en grève de la faim depuis le 15 octobre 2003 et demande aux autorités tunisiennes de donner suite de toute urgence à l'ensemble de ses revendications et notamment aux plaintes déposées pour vandalisme et agressions physiques envers sa personne ; note la nette détérioration des libertés fondamentales en Tunisie et demande de toute urgence aux autorités tunisiennes d'assurer l'indépendance de la Justice;

1. Calls on the Tunisian authorities immediately to cease all forms of harassment and repression of associations campaigning for the rule of law in Tunisia, and in particular the LTDH, the CNLT and their representatives;
