The Contracting Parties reinforce their cooperation in the area of visa policy and related areas, with a view to further promoting people to people contacts, starting with ensuring the efficient application of the judgment of the Court of Justice of the European Union issued on 19 February 2009 in case no C-228/06 Mehmet Soysal, Ibrahim Savatli v Germany and other relevant judgements on Turkish Service providers' rights based on the Additional Protocol of 23 November 1970 annexed to the Agreement establishing an Association between the European Economic Community and Turkey.
Les parties contractantes renforcent leur coopération dans le domaine de la politique des visas et dans les domaines connexes, dans le but de promouvoir davantage les contacts entre les peuples, en commençant par assurer la bonne exécution de l'arrêt de la Cour de justice de l'Union européenne rendu le 19 février 2009 dans l'affaire C-228/06, Mehmet Soysal et Ibrahim Savatli contre la République fédérale d'Allemagne, et d'autres arrêts pertinents sur les droits des prestataires de services turcs conformément au protocole additionnel du 23 novembre 1970 annexé à l'accord créant une association entre la Communauté économique européenne et la Turquie.

I am sure that you have all heard about the terrible murder, on 19 January, of the Armenian-Turkish journalist Hrant Dink, who had, over recent years, frequently drawn attention to himself with his calls for engagement with the history of the Armenians under Ottoman rule, attracting the hostility of many nationalists and being repeatedly prosecuted by the Turkish justice system on account of what he wrote and said.
