4. Practical aspects of the meeting The Commission will attend to the following in preparation for the meeting: (i) sending of invitations by diplomatic channel at the end of October 1996; (ii) circulation of a brief analytical document in mid-November 1996; (iii) practical arrangements for the meeting in January/February 1997; (iv) bearing the costs (travel, accommodation and daily subsistence allowances) of two government experts per Mediterranean partner, under the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership.

Like all the regional meetings held under the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership, this meeting will have a triple objective: (i) to establish a working relationship between government specialists dealing with the same subjects in those of the 27 partner countries which have relevant experience; (ii) to enable information to be exchanged concerning the policies followed in a given sphere (the economic transition process in countries strengthening their links with the EU) and to allow the exchange of good practice.
