We are witnessing on a daily basis the closure of numerous popular newspapers and international websites, increasing discrimination against migrant workers from rural areas, thousands of whom are, for example, excluded from health insurance, and thousands of members of Protestant, Catholic and unofficial churches being imprisoned and tortured, not to mention the repression of the Uyghur community, the forced labour camps and the death penalty, which is still widely applied to punish about 68 non-violent economic crimes.
Nous sommes tous les jours témoins de la fermeture de nombreux journaux populaires et de sites web internationaux, de l’augmentation de la discrimination à l’encontre des travailleurs migrants des zones rurales, dont des milliers n’ont pas accès à l’assurance maladie, de l’emprisonnement et de la torture de milliers de membres des églises protestante, catholique ou non officielles, sans parler de la répression de la communauté Uyghur, des camps de travail forcés et de la peine de mort, qui est toujours largement appliquée pour punir environ 68 délits économiques non-violents.

I would like to take up another example, the persecution of the unofficial Catholic Church in China, which has to exist underground because the government does not recognise the Catholic Church which sees itself as linked to the Vatican.
