After the definition of criteria, the following steps have to be completed for the ECO-LABEL to be awarded to individual products: - the manufacturer submits an application to the competent body in the Member State where his product is manufactured, marketed for the first time, or imported from a third country; - the competent body assesses whether the product complies with the ECO- LABEL criteria; - if, after this assessment, the competent body decides to award the ECO-LABEL, it notifies the Commission who in turn notifies the competent bodies in the other Member States; - if no objection is raised within 30 days, the competent body can award the label, on the basis of a contract with the applicant. If objections are raised, the decision on the award must be taken at Community level.
Après la définition des critères, les étapes qui permettront d'attribuer l'ECOLABEL à des produits sont les suivantes : - Le fabricant soumet une demande à l'autorité compétente dans l'Etat membre où son produit est fabriqué, vendu pour la première fois ou importé d'un pays tiers, - L'autorité compétente contrôle si le produit est conforme aux critères de l'ECOLABEL, - Si après examen, l'autorité compétente décide d'accorder l'ECOLABEL, elle en informe la Commission qui informe à son tour les autres Etats membres, - Si aucune objection n'est formulée dans les 30 jours, l'autorité compétente peut décerner le label par contrat avec le requérant; dans le cas d'une objection la décision d'attribution doit être prise au niveau communautaire.
