I would like to thank the Conference of Presidents for unanimously supporting the proposal that we invite young Bosniaks and Serbs from Srebrenica to the European Parliament together every year, so that, in a setting away from Srebrenica, without the pressures and stresses of their home surroundings, they can think, plan and build a common and more beautiful future for Srebrenica and for the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Je tiens à remercier la Conférence des présidents d’avoir unanimement soutenu la proposition d’inviter chaque année au Parlement européen de jeunes Bosniaques et de jeunes Serbes de Srebrenica pour que, loin de Srebrenica, sans pressions et sans tensions, ils puissent penser, planifier et construire un avenir commun et meilleur pour Srebrenica et pour toute la Bosnie-et-Herzégovine.

The tragedy in Srebrenica cannot be overcome unless we address the problem of the Dayton Agreements, unless we address the problem of the ethnic definition of the region, because it is that ethnic definition that is now preventing not only the Serbs but also the Croats and Bosniaks from admitting their crimes.
Le drame de Srebrenica ne pourra pas être surmonté tant qu’on ne posera pas le problème des accords de Dayton, tant qu’on ne posera pas le problème de la définition ethnique de la région parce que c’est cette définition ethnique qui empêche aujourd’hui tant les Serbes que les Croates et les Bosniaques de reconnaître leurs crimes.
