D. considérant que Nabeel Rajab, défenseur des droits de l'homme à Bahreïn, président du Centre pour les droits de l'homme de Bahreïn (BCHR), secrétaire général adjoint de la Fédération internationale des droits de l'homme (FIDH) et membre du comité consultatif de la division Moyen-Orient de Human Rights Watch, a été condamné à six mois de prison seulement pour avoir exercé pacifiquement son droit à la liberté d'expression; considérant que Nabeel Rajab a été arrêté le 1 octobre 2014 après sa visite à la sous-commission "droits de l'homme" du Parlement européen car accusé d'avoir posté des tweet concernant un groupe de compatriotes présumé coopérer avec l'EI; considérant qu'il a été accusé d'insulte à une institution publique et à l'armée; considérant qu'en novembre 2013, le groupe de travail des Nations unies sur la détention arbitraire a qualifié d'arbitraire la détention de Nabeel Rajab;

E. whereas Nabeel Rajab has served several prison sentences since setting up the Bahrain Centre for Human Rights in 2002; whereas Nabeel Rajab is facing further charges related to his freedom of expression and is currently risking up to 10 years’ imprisonment for allegedly ‘insulting a statutory body’ and ‘spreading rumours at a time of war’;
E. considérant que Nabeel Rajab a subi plusieurs peines de prison depuis la création du Centre pour les droits de l'homme de Bahreïn en 2002; que de nouvelles accusations sont retenues contre lui en raison de sa liberté d'expression et qu'il risque actuellement jusqu'à 10 ans de prison pour avoir prétendument "insulté un organe statutaire" et "répandu des rumeurs au moment d'un conflit".

B. whereas Nabeel Rajab, the President of the Bahrain Centre for Human Rights (BCHR) and Deputy Secretary General of the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH), was convicted to three years in prison in August 2012 on charges of calling for and participating in ‘illegal gatherings’ and ’disturbing public order’ between February and March 2011; whereas his sentence was reduced to two years in prison on appeal; whereas before this imprisonment Mr Rajab was repeatedly detained for peacefully expressing criticism of the government during the pro-democracy protests that erupted Bahrain in 2011;
B. considérant que Nabeel Rajab, président du Centre pour les droits de l'homme de Bahreïn (BCHR) et secrétaire général adjoint de la Fédération internationale des droits de l'homme (FIDH), a été condamné à trois ans de prison en août 2012 pour incitation et participation à des «rassemblements illégaux» et «trouble de l'ordre public» entre février et mars 2011; considérant que sa peine a été réduite à deux ans de prison en appel; considérant qu'avant son incarcération, Nabeel Rajab a été plusieurs fois placé en détention pour avoir critiqué pacifiquement le gouvernement au cours des manifestations en faveur de la démocratie qui ont secoué Bahreïn en 2011;
