To give to a wider audience today an example of the benefits of that cooperation, during the conciliation meeting between the Budget Council and a delegation from the European Parliament on 15 July, we were able to agree two very urgent matters: first, a strategy for financing a significant EC contribution to the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Tsunami-affected countries, and secondly, the mobilisation of the European Union Solidarity Fund in favour of Slovakia, to help with the effects of a severe wind storm.
Pour citer, devant un public plus nombreux, un exemple des avantages de cette coopération, nous avons été en mesure, durant la réunion de conciliation entre le Conseil «Budget» et une délégation du Parlement européen qui s’est déroulée le 15 juillet, de dégager un terrain d’entente sur deux dossiers très urgents: premièrement, une stratégie de financement d’une contribution communautaire substantielle en vue de la réhabilitation et de la reconstruction des pays affectés par le tsunami, deuxièmement la mobilisation du Fonds de solidarité de l’Union européenne en faveur de la Slovaquie afin d’atténuer les effets d’une grave tempête.
