Against this background, it is extremely important that Slovakia's fiscal policy contributes to a reduction in the current account deficit and that Slovakia complies strictly with fiscal consolidation commitments (for example, as expressed in Slovakia's pre-accession economic programme submitted to the Commission last year).
Tegen deze achtergrond bezien is het van buitengewoon groot belang dat het fiscale beleid een vermindering van het tekort op de lopende rekening van de handelsbalans in de hand werkt en dat Slowakije zich strikt houdt aan de aangegane fiscale stabilisatieverplichtingen (zoals die b.v. zijn neergelegd in het pre-toetredingsprogramma voor economische ontwikkeling dat Slowakije vorig jaar aan de Commissie heeft voorgelegd).
