The IFD will manage and channel European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) allocated to Portugal for the 2014-2020 financing period, as well as reimbursements from ESIF-funded programmes.

5. vindt het belangrijk dat de EU-begroting wordt aangewend om programma's te bevorderen die gericht zijn op de ontwikkeling van de statistische, verslagleggings- en boekhoudingssystemen en audit- en toezichtprocedures en op de handhaving van financiële beheer- en controlesystemen in de lidstaten, aangezien gezond financieel beheer cruciaal is voor de tenuitvoerlegging van de EU-begroting en nationale begrotingen, omdat daarmee de doeltreffendheid van de uitgaven toeneemt, de kans op fouten en fraude afneemt en begrotingstransparantie wordt bewerkstelligd; verzoekt de Commissie dan ook om snel en doeltreffend gebruik te maken van het antifraude-informatiesysteem (AFIS) en het Europese statistische programma (ESP), en om in samenwerking met de lidstaten de Europese structuur- en investeringsfondsen in te zetten voor capaciteitsopbouw en de uitwisseling van kennis en ervaring tussen de lidstaten op het vlak van financieel beheer en verslaglegging;

(13) In order to ensure that the assessment of risks to public health at the Union level from serious cross-border threats to health is consistent as well as comprehensive from a public health perspective, the available scientific expertise should be mobilised in a coordinated manner, through appropriate channels or structures depending on the type of threat concerned.
