The EP Resolution, voted through with a big majority, states that the EP considers that the sole source of democratic legitimacy is universal suffrage, the results of which have been certified by the UN, and therefore calls on Mr Gbagbo to step down and hand over power to Alassane Ouattara; urges all the political and armed forces in Côte d’Ivoire to respect the will of the people that was reflected by the results of the 28 November poll, as announced by the CEI and certified by the UNSG Special Representative; and deplores the violent clashes that preceded the proclamation of the results of the second round of presidential elections in Côte d’Ivoire and expresses its deepest solidarity with the victims and their families; regrets also the political obstruction and attempts to intimidate CEI members, which ultimately delayed the announcement of provisional results, thus hampering the due course of the democratic electoral process.

Expresses the hope that an accountable and democratically elected government will be in place as soon as possible in Côte d'Ivoire; welcomes, therefore, all preparations completed by the Independent Electoral Commission (CEI), but urges the CEI to make a new and realistic electoral timeline public as soon as possible; believes that Parliament's support for a full EU-Côte d'Ivoire EPA should take account of whether elections have taken place and whether a democratically elected government is in power; requests to be consulted as early as possible;
10. spreekt de hoop uit dat Ivoorkust zo spoedig mogelijk een verantwoordelijke en democratisch verkozen regering zal krijgen; verwelkomt daarom alle voorbereidingen die door de Independent Electoral Commission (CEI) zijn getroffen, maar dringt er bij de CEI op aan zo spoedig mogelijk een nieuw en realistisch tijschema te publiceren; is van oordeel dat bij de steun van het Parlement voor een volledige EPO tussen de EU en Ivoorkust rekening moet worden gehouden met de vraag of er verkiezingen zijn gehouden en of er een democratisch gekozen regering aan de macht is; verzoekt zo spoedig mogelijk te worden geraadpleegd;

Maintenance and servicing of boilers and air conditioning systems shall be carried out at least yearly, or more often if so required by law or need, by appropriately qualified professionals, following CEI and national standards where these apply, or according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Current cooperation with users is beneficial and comprises, inter alia, the activities of the European Advisory Committee on Statistical Information in the Economic and Social Spheres (CEIES) (1), cooperation with European business federations and the formal discussions of the statistical work programme with Commission services.
De huidige samenwerking met gebruikers is nuttig en omvat onder andere de activiteiten van het Europees Raadgevend Comité voor statistische informatie op economisch en sociaal gebied (Ceies) (1), samenwerking met Europese brancheorganisaties en de formele besprekingen van het statistisch werkprogramma met de diensten van de Commissie.

[6] There is anyway a need to reform the CEIES, arising from a number of factors, including the enlargement of the European Union (applying the existing rules would make the CEIES “non-operational”), recent developments related to the functioning of the ESS, more effective involvement of all the stakeholders, the need for an increased efficiency.
[6] Er zijn in elk geval een aantal factoren die een hervorming van het CEIES noodzakelijk maken, zoals de uitbreiding van de Europese Unie (toepassing van de huidige regels zou het CEIES verlammen), de recente ontwikkelingen met betrekking tot de werking van het ESS, grotere betrokkenheid van alle belanghebbenden en de behoefte aan meer efficiëntie.
