1. Goods and services in respect of which trade mark registration is applied for shall be classified in conformity with the system of classification established by the Nice Agreement Concerning the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks of 15 June 1957 (“the Nice Classification”).

Stresses the important role of proper classification rules for sincere interinstitutional cooperation; welcomes in that regard interinstitutional agreements on classification and access to documents, although they cannot replace a proper legislative basis; calls in this context on the Council and the European External Action Service to follow the model of the new IIA between Parliament and the Commission and to conclude a similar agreement with Parliament as a matter of urgency;
12. benadrukt het belang van goede rubriceringsregels voor een oprechte interinstitutionele samenwerking; is in dat verband ingenomen met de interinstitutionele afspraken inzake rubricering van en toegang tot documenten, ofschoon die niet de plaats van wetgeving kunnen innemen; verzoekt de Raad en de Europese Dienst voor extern optreden in dit verband het voorbeeld van het nieuwe IIA tussen Parlement en Commissie te volgen en spoedig een vergelijkbaar akkoord met het Parlement te sluiten;

If they do not accept the classification proposed in the preliminary draft budget, the European Parliament and the Council will examine the classification of the budget item concerned on the basis of Annex III. Agreement will be sought by means of the conciliation procedure provided for in Annex II, Part C.
Wanneer de in het voorontwerp van begroting voorgestelde indeling niet wordt aanvaard, onderzoeken het Europees Parlement en de Raad de indeling van het betrokken begrotingsonderdeel op grond van bijlage III.
