Calls on Turkey to demonstrate resilience and intensify its efforts towards a political solution to the Kurdish issue and asks all political forces to work in alliance towards the goal of reinforced political dialogue and a process of further political, cultural and socio-economic inclusion and participation of citizens of Kurdish origin, in order to guarantee the rights to freedom of expression, association and assembly;
considers, in this connection, that the right to education in one's native language is essential; calls on the Government of Turkey to step up its efforts to further promote socio-economic development in the south
...[+++]-east; takes the view that the constitutional reform provides a very useful framework to promote a democratic opening; recalls that a political solution can only be built upon an open and truly democratic debate on the Kurdish issue and expresses concern at the large number of cases launched against writers and journalists writing on the Kurdish issue and the arrest of several Kurdish politicians, locally elected mayors and members of municipal councils, lawyers, protestors and human rights defenders in connection with the KCK trial and other police operations; calls on the Government of Turkey to create the peaceful basis for political figures of Kurdish origin to have a free and pluralistic debate; underlines the importance of promoting discussion of the Kurdish issue within the democratic institutions, particularly the TGNA; 36. roept Turkije op om veerkracht te tonen en intensiever te streven naar een politieke oplossing van het Koerdenvraagstuk en verzoekt alle krachten in de politiek samen te werken om het doel te bereiken van een versterkte politieke dialoog en een proces van verdere politieke, culturele en sociaal-economische integratie en deelname van burgers van Koerdische afkomst, om het recht op vrijheid van meningsuiting, vereniging en vergadering te garanderen; is in dit verband van mening dat het recht op onderwijs in de moedertaal essentieel is; verzoekt de r
egering van Turkije zich intensiever in te spannen voor een verdere bevordering van de
...[+++] sociaal-economische ontwikkeling van het zuidoosten van Turkije; is van oordeel dat de grondwetsherziening een uiterst nuttig kader ter bevordering van een proces van democratische opening biedt; herinnert eraan dat een politieke oplossing alleen kan stoelen op een open en daadwerkelijk democratisch debat over het Koerdenvraagstuk, en geeft uiting aan zijn bezorgdheid over het grote aantal processen tegen schrijvers en journalisten die over dit vraagstuk schrijven en over de arrestatie van diverse Koerdische politici, plaatselijk verkozen burgemeesters, gemeenteraadsleden, advocaten, demonstranten alsmede mensenrechtenactivisten in verband met het zogenaamde KCK-proces en andere politieoptredens; verzoekt de regering van Turkije een vreedzame basis te creëren voor politici van Koerdische origine om een vrij en pluralistisch debat te kunnen voeren; onderstreept dat de discussie over het Koerdenvraagstuk binnen de democratische instellingen moet worden gestimuleerd, met name in de Turkse grote nationale vergadering;
