The Decision of 16 December 1980 setting up the Consultative Committee for the Fusion Programme, Decision 84/338/Euratom, ECSC, EEC, Decision 2006/970/Euratom, Decision 2006/976/Euratom, Decision 2006/977/Euratom, Regulation (Euratom) No 1908/2006, Decision 2012/93/Euratom, Regulation (Euratom) No 139/2012, Decision 2012/94/Euratom and Decision 2012/95/Euratom are repealed with effect from 1 January 2014.

Het Besluit van de Raad van 16 december 1980 tot oprichting van een raadplegend comité voor het fusieprogramma, Besluit 84/338/Euratom, EGKS, EEG, Besluit 2006/970/Euratom, Beschikking 2006/976/Euratom, Beschikking 2006/977/Euratom, Verordening (Euratom) nr. 1908/2006, Besluit 2012/93/Euratom, Verordening (Euratom) nr. 139/2012, Besluit 2012/94/Euratom en Besluit 2012/95/Euratom worden met ingang van 1 januari 2014 ingetrokken.

During a debate on 25 January 2005, Prof. Sir Chris Llewellyn Smith, Chairman of the Consultative Committee for the Fusion Programme, said that nuclear fusion could be generating power commercially in 40 years' time, provided that a heavily subsidised programme was adopted.

Calls on the Commission to continue its engagement and dialogue with Turkey on trade, particularly within the Joint Consultative Committee and the EC-Turkey Customs Union Joint Committee; encourages both sides to use these platforms more effectively, by rapidly resolving outstanding issues such as Turkey’s ban on imports of beef meat, live bovine animals and derivative products and some EU Member States’ road quotas applied to vehicles registered in Turkey;

This Decision takes into account the outcome of the enquiry conducted by the Commission and, in particular, the positive opinion of the Consultative Committee for the Euratom Specific Research and Training Programme in the Field of Nuclear Energy (Fusion) on the proposals,

The Commission is to adopt the measures implementing this Regulation for ensuring the transparency and clarifying the provisions applicable to the management of operational programmes as regards the categorisation of expenditure, financial engineering, management and control, electronic exchange of data and publicity after obtaining the opinion of the Coordination Committee of the Funds acting as a management committee. It is appropriate that the Commission publishes the list of eligible areas for the European territorial cooperation objective in application of the criteria set out in this Regulation, the indicative guidelines on the cost-benefit analysis necessary for the preparation and submission of major projects and for revenue generating projects, the indicative guidelines on evaluation and the list of actions eligible under technical assistance at the initiative of the Commission after consultation of the Coordination Committee of the Funds acting as a consultative committee,

The rest of the fusion programme, aiming at improving scientific and technological knowledge for the fast realisation of fusion energy, will be implemented under the direct responsibility of the Commission, assisted by a consultative committee as specified in Regulation (EC) No .of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down the rules for the participation of undertakings, research centres and universities in actions under the seventh Framework Programme and for the dissemination of research results (2007-2013) 1 ('the rules for participation').
