2. This Directive shall be without prejudice to Union law concerning safety and health of workers at work, in particular Directives 89/391/EEC and 92/91/EEC.
2. Deze richtlijn is van toepassing onverminderd het Unierecht betreffende de veiligheid en gezondheid van werknemers op het werk, met name de Richtlijnen 89/391/EEG en 92/91/EEG.

Existing mine safety regulations must be rigorously implemented; mine owners and managers who knowingly put their workers’ lives at risk must be prosecuted, and the government must ratify the ILO Convention on Safety and Health in Mines.
De bestaande voorschriften voor mijnveiligheid moeten strikt ten uitvoer worden gelegd; mijneigenaren en beheerders die het leven van hun medewerkers bewust op het spel zetten, moeten worden vervolgd en de regering moet het ILO-verdrag betreffende veiligheid en gezondheid in mijnen ratificeren.
