For its part, the Commission, together with the Member States, is endeavouring to develop a European data bank on medicinal products (ECPHIN - European Community Pharmaceutical Products Information Network), which is to include, besides information of a therapeutic nature, useful socio-economic information such as: price of the medicinal products, cost of the treatment, eligibility for reimbursement, prescription only or non-prescription.
Van haar kant werkt de Commissie, in overleg met de Lid-Staten, aan de ontwikkeling van een Europese databank over geneesmiddelen (ECPHIN - European Community Pharmaceutical Products Information Network) die, naast een groot aantal gegevens van therapeutische aard, ook uit sociaal-economisch oogpunt nuttige informatie zal bevatten, namelijk prijzen van geneesmiddelen, kosten van een behandeling, voorwaarden voor vergoeding en voorwaarden voor het afleveren met of zonder recept.
