The programme identifies the following priorities: 1) Improvement of facilities for cross-frontier cooperation (9.9% of the total allocation for the programme) 2) Spatial planning, environment and rural development (17.7%) 3) Business promotion, vocational training and transport (35.9%) 4) RD, telecommunications (10%) 5) Health and eduction, culture (24.6%) 6) Technical assistance (1.9%) The programme builds on the experience gained with INTERREG I and is based on cross-frontier facilities which were established back in the 70s, e.g. the German, French and Swiss Government Commission and the upper Rhine conference.
Het programma omvat de volgende zwaartepunten : 1) verbetering van de voorzieningen voor de grensoverschrijdende samenwerking (9,9% van het totale bedrag van het programma) 2) ruimtelijke planning, milieu en plattelandsontwikkeling (17,7%) 3) economische bijstand, beroepsopleiding en verkeer (35,9%) 4) onderzoek en ontwikkeling, telecommunicatie (10%) 5) gezondsheidszorg en opvoeding, cultuur (24,6%) 6) technische bijstand (1,9%) Bij de uitvoering van het programma wordt gebruik gemaakt van de ervaringen, die met INTERREG I zijn opgedaan.
