Instructs its competent committee to continue to monitor closely the taking of the inventory and to ascertain whether the new system for the management of Parliament's property (ELS) is being operated properly and effectively; asks that, as a part of the Revenue and Expenditure Account and Balance Sheet for every financial year, a detailed account is made of the physical permanent inventory; expects in particular that the Revenue and Expenditure Account and Balance Sheet for 2000 will indicate the completion of measures which are still pending; expects measures to ensure implementation in accordance with the new system;

Requests the Commission to cooperate more closely with the European Cooperative Programme for Crop Genetic Resources Networks (ECP/GR) and the European Forest Genetic Resources Programme (EUFORGEN) in the distribution of tasks and to shift the emphasis of work under the programme from the 'permanent inventory' to the 'conservation of genetic diversity through utilization in agricultural and horticultural practice' so as to be better equipped for the new tasks after the reform of the CAP with a view to the necessary integration of economic, ecological and social aspects;
9. verzoekt de Commissie bij de taakverdeling nauwer overleg te plegen met het Europese samenwerkingsprogramma voor genetische hulpbronnen (ECP/GR), alsmede met het Europees Programma voor genetische hulpbronnen in de bosbouw (EUFOR-GEN) en het zwaartepunt van het programma van een "permanente inventaris" te verleggen naar "instandhouding van de genetische verscheidenheid door gebruik in de land- en tuinbouw", om met het oog op de nodige integratie van economische, sociale en milieu-aspecten beter te zijn voorbereid op de nieuwe taken na de hervorming van het GLB;
