2. In the case of contracts for financial services comprising an initial service agreement followed by successive operations or a series of separate operations of the same nature performed over time, the provisions of this Directive shall apply only to the initial agreement.
2. In geval van overeenkomsten betreffende financiële diensten die een initieel akkoord over diensten omvatten, gevolgd door opeenvolgende verrichtingen of een reeks in de tijd gespreide aparte verrichtingen van dezelfde aard, is deze richtlijn alleen van toepassing op het initiële akkoord.

(27) This Directive, together with the future Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the distance marketing of consumer financial services, contributes to the creating of a legal framework for the on-line provision of financial services; this Directive does not pre-empt future initiatives in the area of financial services in particular with regard to the harmonisation of rules of conduct in this field; the possibility for Member States, established in this Directive, under certain circumstances of restricting the freedom to provide information society services in order to protect consumers also covers measures in the area of financial services in particular measures aiming at protecting investors.
(27) Met deze richtlijn, alsook met de toekomstige richtlijn van het Europees Parlement en de Raad betreffende de verkoop op afstand van financiële diensten aan consumenten, wordt een bijdrage geleverd aan de totstandbrenging van een juridisch kader voor de on-linelevering van financiële diensten. Deze richtlijn laat toekomstige initiatieven op het gebied van de financiële diensten onverlet, in het bijzonder waar het gaat om de harmonisatie van de gedragsregels op dit gebied.
